DH.60X Seaplane [Cirrus II] to Ontario Provincial Government without CofA. Regd G-CAPA [CofR 361] 11.5.28 to Ontario Provincial Air Service; named "Auk". Rebuilt .30 as DH.60M (c/n 1348). Fitted with Gipsy I 22.4.32. Fitted with Gipsy II 12.5.34. Regd [CofR 2810] 9.6.48 to Hall's Air Service Ltd, Val d'Or, Quebec.
Sold 21.10.55 to Warner Bros Inc, Burbank, California for use as camera ship and in film "The Spirit of St Louis"; [also reported as owned by Paul Mantz]. One of two DH.60 fuselages acquired for the film with one set of wings, which were destroyed in a trailer fire; fitted thereafter with modified ex-Canadian Tiger Moth wings by Bud Gurney and other mods, including inverted Gipsy Major IC. Regd N1510V. Sold, on
completion of film, to Harlan A "Bud" Gurney, Woodland Hills, California (Gurney acted as technical director for the film and also as Lindbergh in flying sequences). CofA issued 31.5.63. Fitted [.77] with Gipsy II.
Regd 22.3.84 to [widow] Mrs Hilda L Gurney, Lompoc, CA. Sold .03 & regd 11.2.04 to David A Watson, Acton, CA for rebuild as G-CAPA [.08].
