After a long rebuilt this plane made its first flight on October 5th, 2000. It was owned by Harold Kindsvater and based at the former Castle AFB in California. Even the FAA registry denotes this aircraft as a Messerschmidt ME-109, however, it is clearly a Spanish built Hispano HA-1112. It is wearing German Winkel-Dreieck-Strich markings of Jagdgeschwader 27.
As G-AWHT it was used as a Messerschmitt Bf-109 in the movie The Battle of Britain in 1969. Note the cowling shape indicating it is Rolls-Royce powered. It was originally Spanish Air Force C4K-169.
