O01, Santa Rosa Air Center in California. It was closed in 1992 and was a former WWII navy base. While not a busy GA airport,it was still one of my favorite stops.Seems every visit, there was something new to see.View is south., photo by S B J

M45, 59X at beautiful Alpine County with view to the west. Over those mountains (20 miles) on the right, is Lake Tahoe but you must climb to at least 11K feet to clear them with M45 being 5867 ft.With a light load, the C172 59X did very good!, photo by S B J

MER, I believe those are blast shields behind the planes. In the 70s it was not unusual to see 3or4 B52s flying around at a time. They were easy to spot, just looked for the trails of dark smoke and I always gave them a wide berth. What a (impressive) sight!, photo by S B J
