This Alpine Fighter Collection P-40K Kittyhawk 42-9733, painted as NZ3108, crashed on approach to Wanaka, New Zealand on October 26, 1997. Whilst the pilot sustained minor injuries, the engine was ripped out of the aircraft which was extensively damaged. After being re-built it flew again in April 2000 and is now on the US register as N4436J.
