N9579A @ NM03 - Cessna 170A N9579A at the Grant Besely Airport (NM03) in northern New Mexico, October 2016. Although this airfield is at 7646 msl, the plane does well with the standard O-300, because a previous owner equipped it with a very aggressive climb prop. - by Andy Wells

N9579A @ KSAF - This 170 has the stock O-300 engine, but with a really aggressive climb prop, it does pretty well in the mountains if lightly loaded. That's Santa Fe Baldy in the background, elevation 12,632 msl. - by Dr. Bob Filice

This is the aircraft I took my first flights back in the early 1970s. My neighbor, Dick Lake, was one of the owners and we lived in Rehoboth Ma. I worked for him at his car wash and we would go flying when we could. They were very enjoyable times. Occasionally, we would fly down to Martha's Vineyard for lunch and on our drive to work I would quiz him on his insturment and instructor ratings. He became a flight instructor out at the Taunton Municipal Airport and I joined the Marines and retired in 1999 after 22 years.
